Every 24 minutes there is one more new refugee
One half of all refugees last year came from Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia.
Syria has now produced 7.6 million refugees and displaced persons.
Afghan refugees are now 2.4 million in Iran and 2.5 million in Pakistan.
Most refugee camps are administered by the United Nations. One in Kenya houses over 350,000 people. Shelter in the majority of camps is plastic or tarps. In the more advanced UN camps housing is a duplex constructed of boards with a metal roof. A family will have one side a 12×12 foot single room for a family. There may 12-14 people per room.
